Bala the Briton from Jet (1971) - Compiled and edited by H. C.

Bala the Briton was a fantasy-adventure comic strip that appeared in IPC’s
short-lived weekly comic Jet in 1971.

The Story: Set "Long Ago," the story followed Bala, the son of Haral, on an epic
quest to find his father. The 3-page strip was known for its mythical adventure tone.

The Run: Published for only 22 issues (from May 1 to September 25, 1971), Bala the Briton
was one of the straight-faced adventure stories in a comic largely
known for its chaotic, comedic strips.

The Conclusion: When Jet merged with Buster in October 1971, the more seriou
s adventure strips were abruptly cancelled to make room for humor-focused stories.

  1. Thank you so much, as ever, H.C. and Andrew Wallace for this new gift. The adventure was drawn by the spaniard artist Félix Carrión and there were 2 more adventures in the Jet Annual 1973 (not included in this compilation) one in prose story and the other drawn.
