Eagle Annual 012 (1963) Hulton Press

 

Eagle Annual 1963 also has a sub-title of Volume 12. Its inner front and back covers contain images of "This Age and its Wonders". It would not have been complete without its regular features which include Harris Tweed, Dan Dare and Waldorf & Cecil. The Dan Dare story is in colour, as are the pictures in the Fifty Fighting Years and Grand Prix articles.

The Flight of the Golden Hinde from Battle Picture Weekly (#01-#12) by boutje777

 


The Flight of the Golden Hinde by S. Conforth [S Conforth (writer), 
Vicente Vaño Ibarra ("Vanyo") artist ],
another strip that featured in the debut issue of Battle Picture Weekly. 
This story featured a replica of Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hinde that sets sail in 1937 
aiming to circumnavigate the world to commemorate the 450th anniversary
 of Drake's 1577 voyage. The ship is still at sea when the war breaks out in 1939.
 The Captain, James Finch, disobeys an order to return to Britain and instead decides 
to complete the voyage.
