Created by Mike Western, with Carlos Cruz taking over the art from

 the second story onwards. 

The Shrinker starred in five lenghthy adventures in Buster - The Shrinker, 

Return of the Shrinker, The Shrinker's Revenge, The Voyage of the Shrinker, 

The Shrinker in Space - between December 1962 and January 1965. 

Some of the stories were later reprinted in Valiant between 

March 1968 and January 1970.

Base of Operations: Island off the coast of Ireland

First Appearance: Buster (Sth December 1962)

Powers/Abilities: Capek had a device able to shrink any living thing.

History: 

Capek was an evil scientist who had invented a ray machine capable of 

shrinking all living things. Using this he intended to blackmail Britain 

(and probably other countries) for large ransoms. 

He was opposed by Squadron

Leader Flint and Sergeant Slake of the RAF who had accidentally 

landed on Capek's island lair. Even reduced to minute size, t

hey managed to defeat the evil mastermind.

The Astounding Adventures of Charlie Peace. The Victorian Years from Buster [1964 to 1968] - Compiled and edited by H. C.

The Astounding Adventures of Charlie Peace was a

comic strip in the UK comic Buster, based on the

 real-life exploits of nineteenth-century thief.

Charles Peace, though the first strip appeared

2 July 20, 1964 in Valiant. When it started it was

set in Victorian times, but in an episode published

in January 1968, Charlie was tricked by an inventor

into entering a time machine disguised as a safe,

and transported to modern London.

Zarga from Buster and Jet (1972-1973) - Compiled and edited by H. C.

ZARGA, MAN OF MISTERY

The artists for the strip were Joe Colquhoun and Dave Gibbons, 

while the writer was Marcus Scott Goodall.

 First Appearance: Buster and Jet (IPC, 29th April 1972)

Powers/Abilities: 

Able to hypnotise himself to gain any skill he wants. 

Among the many abilities 

he bestowed on himself were: safe-cracker, train engineer, 

champion motorcyclist, heavyweight boxer, Olympic level pole

vaulter and long jumper, test pilot, escapologist, champion skier, 

tank driver, chemist, and stuntman.

History: A stage hypnotist called the Great Zarga had the amazing power

 to hypnotise himself in a mirror and immediately become skilled in any

profession he chose. Bitter at a public he felt had stopped appreciating him, 

he decided to embark on a life of crime to make them pay for this affront.

After an abortive attempt to break into a safe in a well known bank,

 he then succeeded in robbing a bullion train carrying £3 million in gold, becoming

public enemy number 1. His nemesis on the police force was 

Inspector Gumble of Scotland Yard, who led the pursuit 

of the incredible crook and

hopes of gaining a knighthood if he could only capture him. 

Zarga led him a merry chase, impersonating a 

Baron in order to steal a valuable diamond,

Zarga's run in Buster and Jet lasted for around a year and a half, 

ending in the 3rd November 1973 issue.
