NICK SMITH, the famous international inside-left, had just been
transferred from his old club, Stonebury Arsenal,to Chidsea.
Chidsea were in the doldrums as usual. In the previous four

seasons,they had just missed relegation from the First Division
and, once more, they were in the danger zone. They had some fine
players but had never been able to click as a team. Nick had been
brought fo the club to see if he could inject some life into
the dispirited team.

Captain Hornet is an intelligent gadget user who flies around in a wasp-like machine of his own invention that he calls "The Hoverer". This remote-controlled machine can shoot out a highly effective paralyzing ray as well as crush, pick up, or delicately manipulate objects with its six retractable legs.

When not in the Hoverer Captain Hornet regularly carries a variety of gadgets, he has an emergency Jet-Pack, X-Ray Goggles that allow him to see through objects, and sticky pads that let him climb walls.
