Ellery Queen. Four Color Years (1961-1962) The Complete Series. Mike Sekowski - Compiled by Voltaire57

Ellery Queen is the name of both an author and an investigator.
The investigator is, of course, a fictional character. As for the author,
there are a multitude of them. It began with two cousins,
Manfred Lee (1905-1971) and Frederic Dannay (1905-1982), who had the idea
in 1928 to enter a detective novel competition, which they won hands down.

This was the beginning of a career that would lead them to create the famous
Ellery Queen Magazine (1941) and allow other authors to continue the adventures
of their favorite character, but always under the same name.

Professor Kraken Integral (Knockout and others 1962-1964) Solano López (#01-#03) & Tom Kerr (#04)

Professor Kraken was a distinguished British scientist who investigated
bizarre cases of science gone wrong, and then tried to set things
right again.
One such instance was the plague of giant animals that threatened
Britain, results of exposing normal animals to a mixture
of weed-killers and fertilisers.
He was often accompanied on his cases by fellow scientist Professor Needler
and his assistant Chris Blower.

Comments: Kraken seems to have been inspired by the similar Professor Challenger.

Later, in the Valiant Summer Special of 1967 and 1968, a reduced version of From the Vaults of Time was published, with resizing and deletion of vignettes, modifying the title of the adventure: The Day of the Dinosaurs and Return of the Monsters.

There was a reprint of Professor Kraken's final adventure, The Ogre from the Past, drawn by Tom Kerr, which was published in the 1970
Lion and Valiant Special Extra, and this time without any mutilation.
