Captain Blood is a novel by Rafael Sabatini (1875-1950).
Born Italian, died British, he spoke half a dozen
languages but wrote in English because "all the best stories
are written in English".
Alexandre Dumas and Jules Verne will appreciate it!
If he has neither the talent nor the notoriety of these two, he was nevertheless
a quality writer, at least in the genre he loved, that is to say, romance
and historical adventure novels.
In this field, several of his works are renowned and have
pursued a nice career in the cinema.
